World tour through world port
Travel to the very tip of the vast Rotterdam port area together with Spido. Maasvlakte 2 is the latest expansion of the world port. Where there used to be sea, huge harbour cranes now load and unload containers in and out of the largest ships. Maasvlakte 2 Tour
When everyone has found a comfortable seat on board and has been welcomed with coffee or tea and fresh apple pie, we will sail from the centre of Rotterdam on the Nieuwe Maas. On the outward journey we sail via the Hartel Canal to the Maasvlakte and on the return journey we will sail on the Nieuwe Waterweg back to Rotterdam.*
During the outward and return journey, our captain will tell you all about our special route and upon arrival at Maasvlakte 2, a guide from FutureLand will step on board to tell you everything about the area. You can relax on the spacious outside deck and you will be able to enjoy a wide view.

You can almost touch the ships
While the crew presents the extensive buffet, we reach Maasvlakte 1. The route continues via the Beerknaanal to the 2nd Maasvlakte. At the container terminals you can marvel at the 400 metre long ships with 20,000 containers or more on board. You will be able to get so close to them that you can almost touch them. Don’t forget your camera: the huge cranes are very photogenic! The guide on board explains what happens in the port, how everything works, and why Rotterdam is the most important port in Europe. A number of highlights on Maasvlakte 2 are therefore the Offshore Centre Maasvlakte, where, among other things, the regularly recurring Pioneering Spirit can be seen as well as the SIF, an offshore wind terminal where wind turbines are built in large numbers for the energy transition in the Netherlands.
FutureLand
After the cruise through the new area, we moor at FutureLand, the official information centre of Maasvlakte 1 and 2. You will have about an hour to experience the port in a completely different and interactive way.
Still full of impressions we go back on board. On the way back we will sail via the Breediep, opposite Hoek van Holland, onto the Nieuwe Waterweg. We pass Maeslantkering, Maassluis and the former villages of Rozenburg and Pernis.
We also take a look at the historic cruise ship SS Rotterdam and you will see the famous skyline of Rotterdam as you have never seen it before.
