Among the busy traffic of sea-going and inland ships, this trip is a special journey through one of the largest harbours in the world. You can see Rotterdam’s impressive skyline with its imposing buildings glide by, and then get a unique view of the harbours shipyards, docks and the hypermodern transshipping of thousands of containers. Last but not least the tour will end with a view of the steamship ‘Rotterdam’, the former cruise flagship of shipping company Holland America Line. An exciting 75 minutes with clear descriptions of everything you see.

Why a boat tour in the Port area of Rotterdam?

During the tour you will experience Rotterdam as it is: raw and industrial. With a surface area of more than 12,600 hectares, the port of Rotterdam is the largest in Europe and the period of growth is far from over. The port is definitely not boring and ugly. It is the beating heart of the region. The tour takes you through the history and the current status of the port of Rotterdam.

Skyline Rotterdam

During the cruise you will have a beautiful view of the impressive skyline of Rotterdam. Of all the striking features of Rotterdam, the architecture is perhaps the most impressive. Almost no two buildings are the same, but it has not always been like that.

Rotterdam, the second largest city of the Netherlands, looks nothing like the other Dutch cities. This change in appearance is the result of the bombing during the Second World War. Instead of rebuilding a copy of the city, it was decided to build a totally new, modern city – something Rotterdam did with great enthusiasm. Everything – from the swan-shaped Erasmus Bridge to the imposing high-rise buildings – is worth seeing and will be covered on the tour.

In which languages is the audio explanation on board?

During the 75-minute Rotterdam Harbour Tour, we work with an audio explication system on board. It is audible in Dutch, English, German and French. On paper, the explication is also available in Japanese, Chinese, Spanish and Italian.

For the Extended Harbour Cruise, the audio explication is audible in Dutch, English and German.

During the daytrips and theme cruises, the captain provides explanations in Dutch. There is no audio explication on board.

How do I apply for a refund?

Yes, that’s possible. If you have purchased an admission ticket online via Spido.nl, you can return your admission ticket. Make a request for this by telephone on 010-275 99 99. You will receive your purchase amount back (excluding booking costs). We can change sailing times for you free of charge.
Entrance tickets, for example Day trips or Theme trip tickets, can be canceled 5 working days before departure. You will receive your purchase amount back (excluding booking costs)
Tickets purchased through other channels cannot be returned by Spido.

Can I board directly with the Rotterdam pass?

With the Rotterdam pass you can not board directly. After making a reservation, you must go to the cash register to chip your Rotterdam pass.

Can I order food and drinks on board?

Catering on board is available and at your own expense unless otherwise indicated.

What are the departure times for the harbour tours?

We sail the Rotterdam Harbour Tour (75 minutes) daily.

Can I buy tickets at the office?

Given the crowds in the high season, we really recommend buying these online to avoid disappointment at the checkout.

Are own consumptions allowed on board?

You are not allowed to consume your own food or beverage on board.

Is there catering on board?

There is catering on board. During the cruise, various hot and cold snacks are available on board. You can only pay with pin. View the menu during the cruises here. Own consumptions are not allowed.

Can I take my dog on board?

Dogs are permitted on the 75 minute harbour tours, but must be kept on a lead. Reserve a ticket in advance a € 3.00 per dog. Assistance dogs (if demonstrable) are free at all times.

What are the payment options?

Both on board and at the cash register you can only pay by debit/credit card.

Is there a Family Ticket available?

The Family ticket is available (2 adults & 2 children 4 to 11 years old) including a fun informative activity book for the kids.

What is the maximum group size?

Reservation necessary from 20 people. Please send an e-mail to reservations@spido.nl or by phone, not via our online ticket system. Lunch bags can be ordered for groups of 20 or more.
